Royal Arts Academy – Painting the Modern Garden

Displaying some of the most famous pieces of art, The Burlington House is the only place to be over the next couple of months if you’re an art enthusiast.

The History of The Event

From Monet to Van Gogh, The RAA (Royal Arts Academy) present, ‘Painting The Modern Garden’. This landmark event is to be held at the wonderful Burlington House, and will display some historical pieces of art that display the work of artists painting gardens from the early 1860s to the 1920s. Artists normally dedicated their paintings of gardens to the flowers that populated them. The colours of the flowers and plants were thought to be almost ‘unachievable’, with rare shades of pastel colours densely covering the gardens they painted. Monet was arguably the most important  in the history of these garden paintings, with his showcase pieces ‘Water Lilies (Agapanthus), 1915-26′, and ‘The Water Lily Pond’, influencing many other artists to follow in his footsteps. Further history on the artists and galleries can be found here on the official site. Travelling to the event can be made easy with us here at Licensed London Taxi, with our luxury Mercedes M8 Vito Taxis, which are able to carry up to 6 passengers, luggage, and disabled access.
