Euro 2016 – Part 2
With a great response to the Euro 2016 – Part 1 blog, and with the Euros starting today, we figured it would be the perfect time to release this new blog, Euro 2016 – Part 2.
The Lowdown
Today is the day, the much awaited UEFA European Championships start today. The tournament will kick off with hosts France taking on Romania at the Stade de France. The teams have drawn four of last five competitive matches, so this could be a good start to the tournament, as both teams are anxious to take that all important opening win.
Group B will follow tomorrow, with England starting their tournament run against Russia. With England having a superb pre-tournament, beating the likes of Portugal & Germany, they should be confident going into this game and getting a result.
On Thursday 16th, we will play Wales at 14:00pm. This game is believed to be the most interesting and entertaining in our group. Real Madrid star Gareth Bale will certainly be looking to lead Wales to victory as this is their first Euro tournament since 1976! After 40 years, will the Welsh captain be able to work his magic to push through the knockout stages? We will find out very soon.
Our year?
If you couldn’t tell by just going into a local pub and hearing the gossip, everyone seems to be very optimistic this year about this young England side, and what we can offer. With stars like Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy scoring, and achieving their full potential at an international football level, everyone has high hopes this year for England to reach a very respectable stage in the tournament, or even take home a trophy…
We would like to hear your say on the tournament…
