Wimbledon History

Wimbledon, the most famous dates in the tennis calendar. The 14 day event will always start on a Monday, and plan to end on a Sunday 2 weeks later.

The grass-court tournament started on July 9th, 1877. A long time ago yes, but we have seen some of sporting’s finest moments on that wonderful court. Just to name a few; Andy Murray ending a 77 year wait for a British win, Nadal & Federer with a finale to remember in 2008, Venus Williams battling the world number one, Lindsay Davenport, and many many more.
